Debbie was my “big sister” who took care of me, babysitting while Mom and Dad were at work. She wouldn’t let me eat peanut butter out of the jar! And, I argued and yelled at her that “My mom lets me!” And, of course, as soon as Mom got home, I had to run and tell her to tell Debbie just that! She looked out for me in a new and foreign family. She taught me how to tie my shoelaces! Because of Deb, I felt loved and will be forever grateful to her for that. I knew she always cared and would have my back if ever I needed it. She will always hold a special place in my heart. I can’t say good-bye, but I can say “Thank You, big sister. You and your memory will always be with me.”
