Obituary of Sharon Colliton

 SharonMarie(Sherry) Colliton passed away, peacefully, on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, after a courageous, 15-month battle with cancer.  Sherry was born in Okinawa, Japan and attended Georgetown Visitation High School and Georgetown University School of Nursing.

Sherry started her career as a psychiatric nurse and latertransitioned to a career in health system management as a computer informatics consultant.  This position provided her with the opportunity to travel extensively. Sherry took advantage of this opportunity and lived in many places throughout her lifetime, including Germany, Oklahoma, Texas, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and her home for the last 16 years, Charleston, South Carolina. One of Sherry’s favorite places to visit was her family’s vacation home in Bethany Beach, Delaware. Sherry was passionate about standard poodles and owned several throughout her life.

Sherry was preceded in death by her father and mother, William (Bill) and Margaret (Peggy) Colliton, and her brother, Patrick (Melinda) Colliton. Sherry is survived by seven brothers and sisters: Michael (Karen), Billy, Tim, Matt (Felice), Andy (Kathy), Mary Kay and Terry Colliton. She is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews: Chris (Melissa), Brendan (Caroline), Lindsay, Eileen (Nick), Kaitlyn, Luke, Mary, Jason, Lauren, Rachel and Will Colliton, and one great-nephew, Owen Colliton.

A memorial service is being planned for a future date in Sherry’s hometown of Bethesda, Maryland.
