Obituary of Edward Butler

Edward F. Butler, Jr, age 89 of Moncks Corner, SC entered eternal rest on the morning of September 8, 2018.

 

Edward F. Butler, Jr. was the husband of late Florrie Ruth Ackerman Butler.

Mr. Butler was born on November 20, 1928 in Charleston, South Carolina, the son of the late Edward and Elizabeth Butler. Mr. Butler was a WW II veteran, a member of the Fidelity Lodge #304 AFM Masonic Lodge of John’s Island, S.C. He was a retiree with 35 years of service with Southern Bell. He loved to play golf and to fish.

His family and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, September 18th from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Simplicity Funeral Home, 281 Treeland Drive C, Ladson, SC 29456. The Chapel Service will be held from 12 noon and 1:00 pm.

Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens on Hwy 61.

Surviving are his children; two daughters, Linda Butler-Johnson (Skip) of Moncks Corner and Karla Butler Phinney (John) of Mandeville, LA; a son, Edward Wayne Butler (Gina) of Covington, GA; five grandchildren, Jeannie Heible Wilson, Kelly Butler Bray, Adrien Meyer Brogan, Stacey Butler, Wayne Butler; and three great grandchildren, Samuel Becker Wilson, Savannah Bray, and Cody Bray.  Mr. Butler was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel Edward-Albert Heible.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2090 Executive Hall Road, Suite 130, Charleston, SC 29407 or a charity of one’s choice.
