Obituary of David Mark Mindler

David Mark Mindler, 81, of Goose Creek, South Carolina passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Lowcountry Community Hospice House-Agape Care in Summerville, SC. A Memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 10th in Northwood Church at 1:00p.m. Arrangements by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Service.

David was born August 25, 1940, in Hellertown, Pennsylvania and was the son of the late Joseph Mark Mindler and Mae Irene Pearson of Hellertown, Pennsylvania. He is preceded in death by his sisters Betty Mindler Murray and Joan Mindler Barndt.

He proudly served in the United States Navy for 30 years, then went on to work at the College of Charleston where he retired in 2021 after 33 years. He was a longtime member of Northwood Church where he faithfully served as an usher. He was also a true Philadelphia sports fan where he followed his Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies religiously and nothing compared to him watching Penn State Nittany Lions football.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joan “Joanie” Mindler; his son, John Mark Mindler (Penny) of Goose Creek; Karen Mindler of Hanahan; Michele Martin (Dennis) of Hanahan; and 4 grandchildren-Kelvin, Kaitlin, Trey and Samantha.
