Obituary of Joseph Daniels

Joseph Daniels went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. Joe was born on November 18, 1940, in Sitka, Kentucky to the late Everett Daniels and Ruie Stambough Daniels. Joe came to Charleston by way of the US Navy. He met the love of his life, Joyce, and they were married on November 15, 1959. After he was discharged from the Navy in 1962, they settled in North Charleston, and he went to work at the Charleston Naval Shipyard until he retired in 1995. He then went to work at Walmart on Main Street in Summerville, SC. He retired from there after more than 20 years of service. He spent the remainder of his life in Cross, fishing, gardening, taking care of his wife and enjoying “piddling with his junk.”

He is survived by his children, Debi Stafford (Fred) of Lebanon, PA, Glenn Daniels (Teresa) of Cross, SC, Paul R. Daniels (Janet) of Hanahan, SC, Carolyn Rovelto (Eric) of Summerville, SC; his grandchildren, Jennifer R. Parrish (Michael) of Cheyenne, WY, Glynda “Jo-Jo” Daniels of Cayce, SC, Joey Daniels (Janessa) of Bloomington, MN, Nicholas Daniels (Emily) of California, Nicole Osborne (Bryan) of Columbia, SC, Leslee Mills (Kyle) of North Charleston; Samuel Wengert of Lebanon, PA, Justin Stafford of Lebanon, PA; his great grandchildren, Maggie Parrish, Bryce Parrish, Lilly Osborne, Sophia Reese Osborne, Mackenzie Barr, Sable Essenmacher, Michael Wengert, Ava Wengert, Dustin Stafford; his great-great grandchildren, Daniel Stafford and Kenneth Stafford; his brothers, Everett Cecil Daniels of Walbridge, Ohio and Lowell Daniels (Charlene) of Toledo, Ohio as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce R. Daniels and his brother, Jim Daniels.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 pm at Salem Baptist Church.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 17th at 12 pm at Salem Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
