Obituary of Joan Priscilla Miller Evans

Joan Priscilla Miller Evans departed this world on June 7, 2022 while a resident of Sandpiper PostAcute in Mt Pleasant, SC.  Joan was born on March 12, 1927 in Greenwood Township, Columbia County, Pennsylvania to John Edwin and Elizabeth Welsh Miller.  

She graduated from Millville High School in 1944.  She married her high school sweetheart, Doyle Lundy Evans, on December 29, 1949.  They lived in Lightstreet, PA, Ithaca, NY and Orangeville, PA where they operated Evans General Store and Luncheonette until 1966.

She and Doyle moved to Greenwood and travelled the US every year from October to May.  In 1999, they settled in Lakeland, Florida until Doyle's death in 2009. 

Joan moved to South Carolina and lived near her daughter until her death.

Surviving is her daughter, Patricia Ann Hawkins, son-in-law, Philip J Hawkins of Summerville, SC, two grandsons, Mark Robert Fisher and wife, Leigh of Bulverde, TX and Evan Joseph Fisher of Immoklee, FL.  Two great-grandsons, Jayce Robert and Matthew Glen Fisher and one great-granddaughter, Meliana Arlene Fisher, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A private memorial and internment service will be held at a later date for family members in Millville, PA.
