Obituary of Alma Mary Reilly Bogstad

Alma Mary Reilly Bogstad, 75, of Ladson, SC entered eternal rest on Friday, July 15th, 2022, shortly after 5pm at her residence. Alma was born to Leo Joseph Reilly and Anna Mary Bonner Reilly on January 5th, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is preceded in passing by her sister Helen and brother Leo. She is survived by her sons James (LeAnn) Bogstad Jr. of Bowman, SC and Brian (Leslie) Bogstad of N. Charleston, SC and her daughter Dawn Bogstad of Ladson, SC. She also had six grandchildren Sean Bogstad, James Bogstad III, Timothy Bogstad, William Bogstad, Isabelle Bogstad and Elijah Bogstad and two great grandchildren. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and sister. She volunteered many hours day and night to various 12 step recovery programs and touched many lives through her work there. She showed unconditional love to many. Her door was always open, and her phone was always on for those who needed to talk. She was a vital part of many lives and will be missed by many. Alma relied on and trusted in the Lord and is at peace now and even though she will be missed, we rejoice with her that she is with Jesus now and no one loved her like He does. There will be a small memorial gathering at the family home on July 31st from 2pm to 4pm. (The family will let the address be known by other means.) Alma wanted a celebration so that’s what we’ll do. In leu of flowers, please make donations to organizations that help with one of these: Cancer research, Diabetes, Heart disease or any 12-step recovery program. If friends and family wish to bring one single flower or their choice with them to the memorial– there will be a place to set them in honor of Alma.
