Obituary of Rebecca Ann Williams

On Saturday, July 16th 2022, Rebecca Ann Williams passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 61 in her home in Bluffton, South Carolina. Her memories will be cherished by her older sisters, Renee Williams & Kimberlee Freeman, their families, her loving cousins, and many wonderful, dear friends.

Rebecca was born on June 15th, 1961 in Lubbock, Texas to Stanley “Buttons” & Bette Williams. She was their third daughter and their biggest handful. From an early age, she was a true firecracker with a disposition for fun and joy; just like both of them.

After spending time at Texas Tech, she rooted her life in Dallas. It is here where she became an avid Cowboys fan, and more importantly a Troy Aikman fan. Her years in Dallas were filled with continuous laughter with her family, friends, and even strangers. She was the life of the party, any party. Whether it was at a Cowboys tailgate or her backyard pool parties, she was magnetic to anyone in her presence.

Rebecca’s life was not all play. She was a respected and admired professional who brought integrity and kindness to everything she did. Her career started in 1983 with DFW Tours where she learned she was a natural fit for hospitality. She then moved onto Canadian Pacific, Savoy, Sol Melia and SEI Incentives to help her clients travel to her favorite parts of the world. In 2010, she moved into Real Estate where she assisted home buyers & sellers. This past year, she finally landed her dream job where she used her hospitality & real estate knowledge, and most importantly her love for the beach, in Owner Acquisitions with a Hilton Head Island Vacation Management Company.

Although she lived in Dallas for over 30 years, it was the beach that she called home. The white sand at Hilton Head Island inspired her to join her sister and brother-in-law in South Carolina. She found her long sought after peace on the Carolina coast.

The impact she made during her life was immeasurable. With a big heart, and even bigger hair, Rebecca was truly one of a kind. She was the best friend to many and will be terribly missed by all who knew her.

Her Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, August 2nd at St. Andrew’s Methodist Church in Plano, TX at 1:00pm. Reception to follow at The Lakes at Castle Hills in Lewisville, TX.
