Audrey Kuchta Fenn, age 95. of Bluffton, SC, formerly of Cheswick, PA, born July 16,1927 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Friday August 19, 2022.

Audrey was a wonderful wife, and proud mother of 3 children, grandmother of 5 and great-grandmother of 5. She lived a full life with her loving husband of over 71 years, James Roy Fenn who passed away in November of 2020.

Audrey obtained her Regis- tered Nurse degree in 1948 as part of the Nurse Cadet Program of WW2. She worked as a hospital obstetrical nurse and loved her calling. She had a wicked sense of humor and loved to regale family and friends with her many stories. Jim and Audrey traveled extensively throughout the US and Europe and loved cruising.

Audrey continued to utilize her nursing skills by volunteering for many initiatives, such as administering the polio vaccine when it became available, providing PAP smears to low-income women and even worked at an ear-piercing kiosk. She also was a volunteer for the Lower Valley Ambulance Service as a dispatcher and worked onboard ambulances during transfers of patients.

For many years, Audrey was an integral member of The St. Alphonsus Mother’s Club who did fundraisers, hot lunches, carnivals and field trips for the children of St. Alphonsus Catholic School. Jim and Audrey volunteered for literally decades as drivers and cooks for Meals On-Wheels in both Springdale, PA and Bluffton, SC. She sang in the choir of St. Alphonsus and St. Gregory The Great and loved listening to music and dancing.

She is survived by her children, James Michael Fenn of Hilton Head Island, SC, Marianne (Denny) Smith of Bluffton, SC, Maureen (Alan) Bird of Parker, CO, grandchildren Jennifer Garten, Michelle Cain, Alexander Smith, Kathleen Bird and Jaclynn Bird, great grandchildren Aiden, Austin, Marley, Madison and Logan , who called her “Great-O” or Grammy.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Gregory The Great Parish, Bluffton, SC at a date to be determined. Her ashes will be interred at the Resurrection Garden of St. Gregory The Great where she will be together with her be- loved Jim for all eternity.
