Obituary of Betty Marie Gillis Lee

Betty Marie Gillis Lee, 82, passed away on September 10, 2022 at home with her family at her side.

 

Betty is survived by her four children, Josh Lee (Jean), Carol Lee Sewell, Debra Lee Hern and Sandra Couch; grandchildren, Dallas Morabbi (Cosmo), Austin Hern, Colleen Hamby (Chad), Dakota Hern, Montana Hern, Sabrina Sewell (Tyler), Cooper Sewell, Zoe Hendershott and Johnathon Stoddard; great-grandchildren, Slade, Kovu, Sullivan, Quinndalyn, Vada, Sterling and Eleanor; and her beloved cousin, Robert Haddock of Wilmington, Delaware.

 

Betty was Born January 21, 1940 in Lewes, Delaware, the daughter of Martha and Irving Gillis.

 

She married the love of her life, Everett Lee, in January 1956.  They traveled to many places during his military career before settling in Goose Creek, SC.

 

Betty was a volunteer at Howe Hall Elementary for many years before becoming a pre-school teacher at the Goose Creek Rec Center in 1998.

 

A private Memorial Service will be planned for Lewes, Delaware and a private Remembrance in Goose Creek, SC.
