Obituary of Brenda Malone

Brenda Malone, 68, of Charleston, SC, left us, holding the hand of her eldest daughter, April Malone, on November 21st.

Brenda Malone was born November 5th 1954 in Savannah, GA to the late JW and Jewell Chancey. She graduated from Groves Highschool in Garden City, GA and later went on to attend Armstrong State College in Savannah, GA. She worked at Morrison Cafeteria in Garden City, GA. After marrying the love of her life in 1975, Brenda moved to South Carolina where she worked for Mother's Care, Sears for over 30 years, Food Lion, and finally Office Depot for 10 years before finally becoming fully retired in February of 2020 to spend time with her family.
It was in Savannah that Brenda met her lifelong partner Tony, with whom she celebrated 47 years of beautiful marriage and parented her two daughters, April and Gaylen Malone. Their marriage is proof that sometimes blind dates do work out.

Brenda's hobbies included fishing, camping, dancing, singing, reading romance novels, spending time with family and friends, cross stitching, and enjoying a good meal.
Brenda was an active member in her church, St. Mark United Methodist until her health wouldn't allow her to attend. She was a member of the St. Mark UMC choir, a member of the Shawn Ramsey Circle, and a member of the Memorial Sunday School Class.

Brenda leaves behind many amazing memories. Her daughters, April Malone of Charleston, SC and Gaylen Malone of Los Angeles, CA. Her sisters Diane Williamson and brother-in-law Terry, Debbie Moone and brother-in-law Richard of Pooler GA, Sister-in-law Judith Pfaehler and brother-in-law Lindy Pfaehler of Goose Creek, SC. Her brother-in-law Shawn Malone and sister-in-law Michelle Malone of Santee, SC. Her brother-in-law Jeff Linn of Lenoir, NC and a host of nieces and nephews that she has spoiled over the years. She is preceded in death by the love of her life Tony Malone, her maternal and paternal grandparents, her parents JW and Jewell Chancey, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Mike and Barbara Malone,her sister-in-law Pat Linn and neighbor and best friend for over 45 years Susan Koester.

Services will be held on December, 9th at St. Mark UMC at 413 Geddes Ave in Charleston. There will be a live stream available. Visitation will be from 1pm until 2pm with a memorial service at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Mark UMC,Holy City Missions at Aldersgate UMC or your local animal shelter.
