Obituary of Rosemary Ann McDonald

On March 30, Rosemary Ann (McElhenny) McDonald passed away in Charleston, South Carolina after a period of declining health. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and aunt, friend and colleague. Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on April 8, 1944, Rosemary was a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner who worked for many years at the West Roxbury VA hospital before retirement in 2002. After retiring to Summerville, South Carolina she remained active, volunteering at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church and Summerville Medical Center. She is predeceased by her parents, Jim and Henrietta, brother Bob, and ex-husband John. She is survived by her sons Chris and Dan, daughters in law Heather (King) and Emiko Mizumura, and grandchildren Kevin, Juliana, Keiko and Sean, as well as sisters Patsy and Judy, brother Jim, sister in law Norma and their families. In her 78 years with us, she left behind a lifetime of treasured memories for all those whose lives she touched. Grammy, Rosemary, Auntie Ro-Ro and mom will be missed by family and friends far and near. Rosemary chose to be cremated, and her ashes will be laid to rest with her parents in Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts at a date to be announced later.
