Obituary of Jennifer Lynn Ward

Born In: Columbus, Ohio

Born: January 22, 1964

Passed on: July 31, 2023

Jennifer Lynn Ward of Goose Creek, SC. passed away in Lowcountry Community Hospice House- Agape Care in Summerville, SC, at the age of 59. Jennifer was definitely one of a kind and she will be greatly missed for her unique sense of humor, as reflected in her own “brilliant” words:

I was born in Columbus, Ohio on 22 January 1964. I died on 31 July 2023 after 13 years skirmish with Stage III C Ovarian Cancer. Evidently, I was rather hard to kill. Even when it metastasized to my lymph nodes.

Over the course of my life, I did a few interesting things. Most of those probably shouldn’t be listed here. (There might be young eyes about.) I can say that I managed to cross the Arctic Circle, stand on the Equator, and cross the Antarctic Circle in less than six months in 2019.

I was preceded in death by my father, Robert Richard Ward I, sister, Wilma Jean Ward Martin, nephew, Karl Elwood Martin II, and husband, Vernon Charles (Burris) Felt. I was also preceded by my beloved cat, Ahnamika, and antisocial bunny, Hadley, along with, most likely, millions of people and the dinosaurs.

I am survived by my sister Anne Marie Ward Smoak (so far as I know,) my brother Robert Richard Ward II, and his wife Judy, my brother-in-law, Karl Elwood Martin I, my niece Julie Elizabeth Ward Spidle and her husband, Frank, my grandniece, Allyssa Briana Biscutti Meister and her husband, Andy (did anyone warn him about us?) My grandnephew, Joseph William Robert Spidle, my great-grandniece Emma Caroline Hardman and her father, my dear friend, William Eric Hardman II. I am also survived by various other relatives, some good friends, some not-so-good friends, and over seven billion people who had no idea I ever existed. Their loss.

Friends, any family members willing to make the trip, acquaintances, and any people wanting to make sure the rumors are true, are welcome to attend my Memorial at Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services, 7475 Peppermill Parkway, North Charleston, SC 29418 on Saturday, 12 August 2023, at 2:00 PM.
