Obituary of Joseph Amell III

Joseph Amell III quietly departed this life on Monday August 28, 2023, at Lowcountry Community Hospice House in Berkeley County, SC.  He is the son of Anna Lee Amell Postell and the late Joseph Amell, Jr.  He was born February 13, 1952, in Summerville, SC. He attended Berkeley County Schools.

Joseph’s life and memories will forever be cherished in the lives of his daughter Christie Fleming (Davy); his grandsons Trevor Fleming and Peyton Fleming, and his granddaughter Riley Fleming of Summerville, SC; his mother Anna Amell Postell of Summerville, SC ; six siblings Joanne (Irvin) Ulmer of Florence, SC; Carol Lines of James Island, SC; Greg (Bev) Amell of Summerville, SC; Nancy Barnhill of Summerville, SC; Steve (Janice) Amell of Goose Creek, SC; Ben (Stephanie) Amell of Williamston, SC and brother-in-law Marty Martinez of St. Stephens, SC.   In addition to his father he was predeceased by his sister Lucy Martinez.

Joseph, lovingly referred to as “Bubba”, loved his family but especially his 3 grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held September 9, 2023, at 2:00 at Carnes Crossroads “Green Barn” in Goose Creek, SC.  In lieu of flowers, please send a memorial to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or a charity of your choice.
