Obituary of Lina Elena Clark

Lina Elena Clark, of Ladson, SC, passed away on Tuesday, September 12th, 2023 after battling cancer.

Lina was born on April 6th, 1947 to Luis Cornejo and Celmira Zumaran in La-Paz, Bolivia.

 Lina moved to Appleton, WI with her first husband, Neil Vander Linden, and daughter, Cynthia, in 1967. She got her GED and became a US Citizen on August 8th, 1973 and moved to Summerville, SC in 1972.

Lina and Gordon first met playing darts at the Holler. Gordon and Lina married on June 30, 2001.

Lina was a Cosmetologist most of her life until she was forced to retire due to chemical allergies. She helped establish the Manicure/Nail program at Charleston Cosmetology Institute. She was an avid bridge player and taught many people how to play bridge over the years. Lina was known for her generosity, empathy, passion, and endless stories. 

 Lina was predeceased by Father, Luis Cornejo, Mother, Celmira Zumaran, and son, Anthony Vander Linden.

She leaves behind her husband, Gordon, her children, Cindy (Robert) and Stepchildren, Peter, Monty (Laurie), Cindy (Jeff), and grandchildren, Jason and Elena.

Visitation will be at 10 AM and Funeral at 11 AM on September 20th, 2023 at Simplicity Funeral, 281 Treeland Drive, Suite C, Ladson, SC 29456. The family welcomes everyone who knew her to attend.
