Obituary of Timothy E. Johnston

Timothy "Tim" E. Johnston, 58 years of age, of North Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on September 3, 2023, at home. Tim was born on April 11, 1965, in Columbus, Ohio, USA. He was a retired US Navy veteran, having served for 31 years.

Tim was husband to Mary Kay Peek Johnston and a father to his son Ryan Johnston (Casey) of Bamberg, SC, stepson Zack Woods (Allie), and stepdaughter Jessy Davis both of N. Charleston, SC. He was a grandfather to eight grandchildren, Olivia, Jaxson, Lainey, Camden, Forest, Addie, Matthew, and Annabelle. Tim grew up in Richwood, Ohio and has four siblings, one sister Linda Mousier and three brothers Mike Johnston (Cheryl), Tom Johnston (Kaki), and Jack Johnston (Tana), and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Tim is preceded in death by his father, Donald Eugene Johnston, his mother, Cora Dell Johnston, and his nephew, Aaron Michael Johnston.

Outside of his military service, he found solace and strength in the music of Third Day. Tim enjoyed spending his free time pursuing his hobbies of fishing and hunting.

A Memorial Service in honor of Tim's life will be held at Edisto Baptist Church in Branchville, SC on Friday, September 29th, 2023 at 1:00 pm. with Rev. Jakie Walters officiating the service. The family kindly suggest In lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Edisto Baptist Church 4831 Edisto River Road, Branchville, SC 29432.

Timothy Johnston will be missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His dedication to his country and his loved ones, he leaves behind a legacy.
