Obituary of Daniel Benjamin Hudson, Jr.

Hudson, Jr., Daniel Benjamin "Dannie" age 96 of Summerville, SC entered eternal rest on September 14, 2023. Dannie was born in Colleton County, SC and raised on a farm in Varnville, SC. He was the fourth child born to Daniel and Leila (Crosby) Hudson who preceeded him in death along with 4 brothers and 6 sisters. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Patricia (Wirth) Hudson, five children Irene, Daniel, John, Lisa and Sharon; 8 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren along with four sisters Joan, Ethylean, Catherine and Pearl, uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. He was a Chief Engineer at the age of 23, later worked for GE and then became a business owner of a ship repair company.  He served in World War II and was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting when he had the time. If you didn't know him he had an inventive mind and spent his life trying to figure out ways to make the world a better place, he loved his family and church.

There will be a church service on Saturday 9/23/2023 at 11:00am at Beautiful Saviour Lutheran Church at 720 Old Trolley Rd, Summerville SC 29485 and a private military burial will be at Beaufort National Cemetery on Monday 9/25/2023.
