Obituary of Francis "Frank" Marion Brodka, Jr

Francis (Frank) Marion Brodka, Jr. was born May 1, 1939, to the late Francis Marion Brodka and Helen Mae Brodka at South Baltimore General Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He passed away on September 23, 2023, in Summerville, SC. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margie Brodka, and their sons Frank, Greg (Beth), and Barry. He also has two granddaughters, Becky Childers and Brittany Sager, and 5 great grandchildren. Frank is also survived by his sisters Theresa (Gene) Riebel and Margaret Corder as well as an extended family by marriage that includes many loving sisters and brother in laws as well as nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the Navy from 1956 to 1977 and proudly served as a part of Mine Squadron 10. After the Navy, Frank became a truck driver and never lost his passion for driving. Frank recently lived at The Retreat of Summerville with Margie and enjoyed spending time with his friends and the staff there. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed weekends at the lake, camping, and spending time with family. Frank was a kind and caring person who was loved by all who knew him and will be truly missed.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Simplicity: Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services, 281 Treeland Dr, Ladson, SC at 1 pm. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm.
