Randy Bruce Swan, a beloved resident of Charleston, South Carolina, left this world on September 22, 2023 at the age of 57, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
Born October 29, 1965, Randy was the son of Carol Sue Swan Henderson and Gilbert Swan. He grew up in Cumming, Georgia and moved to Charleston, South Carolina in 1991, where he developed a deep connection to the community and its people. Randy's life was a testament to his unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and the causes he held dear.
Randy was an entrepreneur of many trades, however, will be remembered for his love of professional roller skating, which turned into a passion for music. Randy was a long time professional country DJ, in the lowcountry at Lazy B, Desperado, The Plex, Market Street Saloon, and Honky Tonk Saloon, he was also a radio disk jockey with Bubba 107.5. He played the background music in our lives for many in Charleston. No matter what situation or obstacle in the way, he always made sure things were done RIGHT. He was a true professional and took his job very seriously. His kind-hearted, wit, and sense of humor made him a joy to be around, and he had a remarkable ability to touch the lives of those he met. Everyone has a story with Randy and if it did not leave you laughing, it definitely made you smile.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Erynn Swan, his two daughters Chandler Swan, 25, and Skylar Swan, 23. Also loved by his brother Rick Swan, his older sister Carol Agee and his special sister Djuana “DJ” Swan. They will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. Randy's legacy will also live on through the countless friends and community members whose lives he enriched.
A celebration of life will be held on a future date which will be provided by his wife Erynn Swan at Honky Tonk Saloon. Family and friends are invited to join together to honor his memory and share stories of the remarkable person he was.
Randahl Bruce Swan will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, compassion, and community involvement will continue to inspire those who follow in his footsteps. May he rest in eternal peace.
