Obituary of Carol Sovak

Carol Diane Sovak, age 63, a resident of Summerville, SC. She entered eternal rest unexpectedly on October 2, 2023, at home. She was born January 12, 1960, in Charleston SC to the late Wilfred David Nave and Allene McNeill Nave.

Carol loved to spend her younger years on James Island, loving the sand and waves of Folly Beach. She graduated in 1978 from Fort Johnson High School and was an avid softball player. She met her husband John Sovak while attending high school through mutual friends. She started work at a local pizzeria but made a career in retail. She completed her employment career at Carolina golf cart. After she and John married in 1980. They raised their four children in the low country. She later in life became a loving Grandmother. She enjoyed most of all family get togethers and cooking for Sunday Family Dinners. As you can see from her photo montage her kitchen was her happy place!

Carol is survived by her husband of 43 years, John Sovak; three siblings Joyce Baker, Michael Nave, and Stephen Nave; four children and their spouses Jay Sovak (Kristen Sovak), Sarah Sovak, Jessica Wood (Tricia Wood), and Matthew Sovak (Cayce Cleland) and ten grandchildren Gaberial, Cameron, Lynn, Anthony, Kyle, Wyatt, Elizabeth, Matthew, Caroline, Emily and her best friend Jackie Tyrrell and second Mother Lorene Hart.

She’s now reunited with her parents Allene McNeill Nave, Wilfred David Nave and her brother David Wilfred Nave.

Services will be 1pm to 3pm on tuesday October 10 2023 at Simplicity Lowcountry 281 Treeland drive Ladson, SC 29456. We are also having after gathering at 181 Tall Pines Rd, Ladson sc 29456 at 3pm.
