Obituary of Catherine Mae Smith

Catherine “Katie” Motte Smith Devoted Mother and Grandmother Catherine Motte Smith, 92, died Friday August 14 at her home in North Charleston with her daughter by her side. Catherine was born December 19, 1922 to Charles and Maude Motte. Catherine lived most of her life in Greenville where she worked for the SC CRS until her retirement. She was an active member of East Park Baptist Church until health issues required her moving to Charleston. Catherine is survived by her daughter, Linda August; two grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her eleven brothers and sisters. The family is having a graveside service Friday, August 21, at 1 pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville.
