Obituary of Marion Tumbleston

Marion “Weed” Edward Tumbleston, 65 years young, of Knightsville was called home by his Lord and Savior November 3, 2012. His wife of 45 years, Mary Henrietta “Hank” Mizell Tumbleston was at his side, along with family. Marion was born December 7, 1946 to the late Edward and Lurline G. Tumbleston. He was a graduate of Summerville High School and a life member of Boonehill United Methodist Church. He proudly served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was later employed and retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard, where he worked as a computer mechanics supervisor. Marion then went to work for Dorchester County as a computer technician. He also worked for ACS at the Charleston Air Force Base. Marion loved his church, his church family and he never met a stranger. He loved the great outdoors and all of God’s creation both great and small. He loved to go camping, hiking, rafting, fishing, biking and most of all talking about how the Lord spoke to him through his adventures. Graveside services will be held at Boonehill United Methodist Church Cemetery, Highway 17 A Summerville, SC on Tuesday November 6, 2012 at 11:00 am. Everyone is invited to celebrate Marion’s life after the service in the Church gymnasium. In addition to his wife, Marion is survived by a son Shaun Edward Tumbleston, a sister Dayle T. Craven, her husband Michael, a nephew Gabe Craven and a grandson Shaun Edward Tumbleston II, all of Summerville, SC. He also leaves aunts, uncles, lots of cousins and many friends. Marion loved and was loved by everyone who knew him. He has gone Home, but he will never be forgotten.
