Obituary of Craig Harris Hocker

Craig Harris Hocker, of Charleston, SC (age 68) passed away peacefully on June 23, 2021. He was born in the mountains of Virginia in Clifton Forge and was raised in Catonsville, MD. Moving to Charleston in his late teens, he found a lifelong home in the historic city. He was known in Charleston as an excellent cabinet and furniture maker, a superb woodcarver, skilled percussionist, talented chef, professional wisecracker and curmudgeon. He was also known to his friends to have a heart and soul of solid gold, a real sense of honor and loyalty. He leaves behind his sister, Tracie Brown and her husband Jim Brown, nephews Justin (spouse Jennifer) Monroe and Sean Monroe, and numerous friends throughout the Charleston area. Known to friends as “Hawkeye”, it has been said that another brick of old Charleston has fallen from the wall.
