Obituary of Frank Giacona

Frank James Giacona, 68, of Summerville, SC passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021, at Roper St. Francis Hospital in Charleston, SC. A funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial, 281 Treeland Drive, Ladson, SC. The family will receive visitors at Simplicity immediately preceding the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Private family interment will be at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Charleston, SC. Frank was blessed with two great loves. He was married to Maureen (O’Brian) Giacona until her death in 1994. He was lucky in love a second time and then married Virginia (Ginger) Tuell on August 31, 2014, in Las Vegas, NV. Frank was a business owner and entrepreneur, living and working in New Jersey, Florida, and most recently in Charleston with his wife Ginger. Frank was so proud of his Italian heritage. He loved being with family and friends, especially with his loving wife Ginger and daughter Janelle. He also treasured time spent with his extended family and friends. Frank enjoyed traveling, particularly cruising and playing games of chance. He had a talent for technology, was great at using his mind and hands to fix things and was always an enthusiastic conversationalist. Frank was the son of Francis (Frank) Giacona and Mabel (McCarthy) Norton. He is survived by his wife Ginger, daughter Janelle Lauren Giacona, sister Diane Scerbo, and nieces and nephews. He created a family of friends including best friends Mike and Mary Anzovino; Lance, Cheryl, and Eric Hurd; Paul, Celeste, and James Bearden; Melissa, John, and Nolan Stephens; Glorie Romanski, Eileen Wilson and his favorite cat Riley. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, brother Anthony Giacona, and sister Linda Giordano.Arrangements are being handled by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services.
