Obituary of Lavern Griffin

LaVern Griffin peacefully entered into eternal life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the morning of July 4, 2021.  LaVern was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel Marshall Griffin on April 3, 2007.  LaVern Griffin was a resident of Goose Creek South Carolina for the past 50 years. The friends and family of LaVern are invited to a viewing at Simplicity Funeral Home at  Treeland Drive, Ladson, SC, from six until eight , Thursday evening, July 8, 2021. The funeral will be held at eleven thirty in the morning on Friday July 9, 2021 at Simplicity Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens in North Charleston at one o'clock

Mrs. Griffin was born in Kingsport, Tennessee on August 27, 1934, the daughter of Worley Franklin Webb and Josie Phillips Webb. 

Mrs Griffin retired from the Winn-Dixie Food Store chain.  Additionally, she retired as a Food Service Manager in the Berkeley County School System at Goose Creek High School.

LaVern is survived by two daughters, Chandra Jane Biggerstaff of Greenville, NC and Penny Rhaye Griffin of Goose Creek; a son, Dennis Michael Griffin, of Hampton SC; two brothers, J.D. Webb of Kingsport, Tennessee and Clifford Webb of Macedonia, SC; two sisters, Betty Brown of Kingsport, Tennessee and Willodean Webb of Goose Creek; seven grandchildren: Rebekah Bryant, Caitlin Biggerstaff, Nicholas Mickalis, Meredith Fry, Morgan Mickalis, Elizabeth Biggerstaff and Marshall Mickalis;  great grandchildren; Hayden Bryant, Eleanor Fry, Stella Suttle, Aiden, Madison and Grayson Mickalis and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
