Obituary of Glenn Vorce

Former Salem, New Hampshire resident, Glenn W. Vorce, 2 weeks shy of his 90th birthday, passed away on July 4th 2021 in Charleston, South Carolina.

Glenn was born on July 18, 1931 in Natick Massachusetts to the late Glen Ora Vorce and Mary Marjorie (Campbell) Vorce.  He was part of the graduating Class of 1949 from Natick High School.  Glenn could accomplish anything he set his mind to do. He understood the importance of a great education.  In his later years, he obtained his Bachelor of Science from New Hampshire College.  He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, stationed Germany.  Glenn married Audrey McFarland in 1957 and made their home in Massachusetts, before moving to Salem New Hampshire in 1967.

He worked most of his adult life in the banking industry, starting out as a bank teller and working his way up to Bank President and Treasurer.  Glenn was very active in the community organizations such as Kiwanis, Dollars for Scholars and the American Red Cross.  Glenn loved the outdoors and enjoyed family time camping at Mount Blue State Park in Maine.  His stories, infectious laugh, his kindness and love of family are the greatness of his legacy that he has passed on to his family and those around him.

Glenn treated those around him with love and respect, and could be best characterized as a family man.  The three top priorities in Glenn’s life were God, his wife Audrey and his family, nothing else mattered.

Glenn is survived by his wife Audrey of 64 years, his son Jeffrey Vorce and his wife Joanna, daughter Licia Iott and her husband Charlie, and daughter Lauren Wilkinson and her husband Bruce, along with 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren with another due in September, who loved their grandpa.

A celebration of life will be held in the fall.  Condolences may be sent to 103 Trellis Lane Ladson, South Carolina 29456.
