Obituary of Jon Hascal Caddell

In Loving Memory of Jon Hascal Caddell

Jon Caddell, 58, of Summerville, SC, husband of Pamela Dawn Caddell, entered into eternal rest Tuesday August 3, 2021 at his residence.  He was born March 12, 1963, in Charleston, South Carolina.  He was the son of the late Mary E. Burner and Fred H. Caddell and the stepson of the late Jackie Neal Burner.  Jon grew up in both Charleston and Summerville and, as a youth, he traveled to Guam and Hawaii where he made many friends and lasting memories.  A graduate of Summerville High School, he resided with his family in Summerville, SC.

Jon met the love of his life, Pamela Dawn Kinsey, on October 3, 1986, and together they raised a family of two children and six grandchildren.  He was the night shift Grocery Manager at the Redbank Road Food Lion in Goose Creek, SC, where he worked several years and leaves behind many devoted managers, coworkers, and loyal customers.  His life had a lasting impact on so many people – from acquaintances to friends and family.  We take comfort in knowing how much better we are from having him in our lives – from being part of the life he built.  He will be part of our everyday lives in the stories we remember and the lessons we learned from him.

First came his love for his family, but a close race for second place in his life would most definitely have been between his love for “Eddie Van Halen” and his “Stratocaster” guitar that he played religiously.  That would definitely have been a hard race to call.  He passed down his love of guitars to his oldest granddaughter Kaelyn and was teaching her to play.  Now, “Uncle Gary” needs to pick up with the lessons.

Jon is survived by his loving wife Pamela Dawn Caddell of Summerville, daughter Kayla J. Armentrout (Tyler) of Summerville, and son Eric R. Ashley (Cassy) of Summerville.  Six grandchildren also survive him:  Kaelyn, Brodie, Karleigh, Amelia, Noah, and River. two sisters, Brenda Hill of Summerville and Caressa Chambless (Robert) of Indian Land, SC, parents-in -law Glen G. Garrett and Angelina J. Garrett of Summerville, sister-in law Kathy Emrich (Jeremy) of Summerville, and two brothers-in-law Dennis Kinsey and Jeffrey Kinsey (Crystal) both of Summerville.  Jon is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Jon will be forever missed by his best friend of 46 years, Gary Hickerson.  Having met at Summerville High School, the two remained best buds from day one.  Rock on Jon!!!

Jon was predeceased by his mother, father, step-father, and sister Tina R. Black.

He was a loving Husband, Father, Jampa, Brother, and Friend.  A family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Always, and forever, in our hearts.

A loving message from his Wife.

“Forever in My Heart”

The moment that you left me, my heart was split into.  One side was filled with memories, the other side died with you. I often lay awake at night, when the world is fast asleep, and take a walk down memory lane with tears upon my cheek. Remembering you is easy, I do it every day, but missing you is a heartache that never goes away. I hold you tightly within my heart, and there you will remain. You see life has gone on without you, but will never be the same. So, the moment that you left me, my world was torn apart. You'll always be a part of me, forever and always in my heart.

With love, your Wifey, Pamela
