Obituary of David Paul Elkins

David Paul Elkins

January 25, 1963 – July 28, 2021
North Charleston, SC - It is with profound sorrow that we mourn the passing of David Paul Elkins. He passed in his home on July 28, 2021.
David was born in January of 1963 at the Fort Jackson Army Hospital in Columbia, SC. His parents Lonnie Leroy “Roy” Elkins and Mary Elizabeth Elkins precede him death.
He is survived by his wife Sheila Marie Elkins and three children, Rebecca Sky Culp, Christin Marie Elkins and Ian James Elkins. Also survived by grandchildren, Izabella Lavon Culp, Bryan Andrew “Drew” Culp and Maverick Lee Coss. He also has six surviving siblings across the US.
He served his country in the Army and served two tours in the Gulf War under Operation Desert Storm & Desert Shield. He also served our Lord with missionary work in various countries, his heart was in the Philippines.  He later came home to Chapin, SC where he and his wife adopted their two daughters, Rebecca Sky & Christin and soon thereafter his son, Ian was born. David was a plumber and owned his own business.  He loved the mountains and being on Lake Murray.
He is known to all as fun-loving, comedic & kind. He was also known for his mild and kind nature, radiant smile & ocean eyes, levity and jokes. He was generous to all and his door was open to anyone who needed support. David was a man of character. His heart was always full for those he cherished. He loved deeply. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered. We will cherish our beautiful memories to fill this monumental void and try to find peace and calm in our hearts.
His family will gather in remembrance and honor David's life in North Charleston, South Carolina. A service will take place on August 20, 2021 at 2 PM at Simplicity: Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services in North Charleston, SC.

Goodbyes hurt the most when the story isn't finished...
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green
pastures he leads me beside quiet water, he refreshes my soul... surely
your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will
dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Psalm 23
