Obituary of Jo-Anne Esposito

Jo-Anne Esposito of Hilton Head Island, SC left this earthly plain on September 18, 2021, under the care of Compassus Hospice.

Jo-Anne was born in New York City, on January 11, 1943, to Nicholas and Helen Esposito (nee Schwabik). A graduate of Dumont High Class of 1960. She later earned several Commercial Insurance designations including Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter. She attended St Joseph University West Hartford, CT, and graduated with a BS in Business Administration. She worked as an Insurance claims manager and commercial insurance underwriter in Connecticut before retiring to Hendersonville, NC. She loved the mountains of Western NC and joked that the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina were like Vermont, only with better weather.

She loved cats, cooking and was an avid reader. She would be the life of any gathering with her witty sense of humor and kind spirit. Some of her fondest memories were around a holiday table or taking vacations with her children Diane and Scott. She loved to be around mountains and lakes, especially Willoughby Lake Vermont where she spent summers as a child with family, and later returned with her own children.

She is survived by her daughter Diane Lee & wife Nancy Hurst of Bloomfield, CT, her son Scott Bamford & Fiancee Dawn Crocco of Bluffton, SC.  A sister; Virginia Fadden of Etowah, NC, brothers; Richard and Charles Martell,  stepsons; Christopher and Peter Belisle and many beloved cousins and nieces.
