Obituary of Laura Ellen Truelove

January 14^th, 1948 – September 25^th, 2021

 

 

Laura Ellen Truelove, 73, passed away in her home in Charleston, SC on September 25^th, 2021.  She was a resident of Canterbury House and a member of Grace Episcopal Church.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at Grace Church Cathedral on Wednesday, Oct 6th at 2:00 pm. 

 

Laura was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and worked a variety of jobs including family therapist, the United Way of the Midlands, Voluntary Action Center, and South Carolina Literacy Association.  Laura was born and raised in Dunn NC.  Later she lived for a time in both Tennessee and South Carolina, with much of her life being in South Carolina.  She made many friends along the way and cherished her friendships.  She was a lover of books and enjoyed writing.   She later developed a passion for nature and landscape photography. 

 

She is survived by her twin sons, Keith Coats (Heather), Kevin Coats (DeeDee), five granddaughters, Molly Grace (Cole), Macey, Hannah, Emma, and Mia, all of Lexington, SC.   

 

She was an animal rights activist who loved all living creatures.  If you’d like to honor her memory, you may do so through a donation to the SC Humane Society or a local animal welfare organization in your community.
