Obituary of Mary Helen Nettles

Mary Helen Nettles, my beloved Grandmother passed away peacefully in her bed, staring out the large bay window on the beautiful sunny morning of September 28th 2021 at approximately 11:30 am est.

Mary Helen Nettles was born, March 4th, 1933, in Lake City, South Carolina, to Carl and Lilly Floyd. Her family consisting of her brothers; Ben and Gerald, her sisters; Elise, Janet and Margie.

She married Clyde Davis Nettles in 1948 then proceeded westward moving their new family to San Diego, California in 1956. 

Helen was the Mother of 3 girls; Nancy/Ali, Bonnie and Melanie. 

Always working, she was a proud retiring Manager for Southland Corporation's 7Eleven stores.

She loved animals, working, cooking Southern food for family and friends, jigsaw puzzles and the occasional antique roadshow.

She and Davis moved back to their beloved South Carolina in 2016 to be near to family in the twilight of their lives and found a lasting friendship with neighbors Louise and Ed Taylor in Moncks Corner until Davis' passing last year. She now follows him to share the rest of their journey together.

Always there with love and a welcoming smile. She was a wonderful, loving, mother to us all. 

She leaves behind one surviving daughter, 5 grandchildren; Traci, Nikki, Christopher, Erin and Mark, and 2 great grandchildren; Cody and Cali Cheyenne, and 2 great-great grandchildren; Aurora and Avander.
