Obituary of Cathy Hess Johnson

Cathy Hess Johnson passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on October 28, 2021, at the age of 64.

The oldest of three children, Cathy was born Catherine Louise Hess in Indianapolis, Indiana to Dorothy Jean Hess and Stanley Robinson, on March 21, 1957. She graduated from high school in Lexington, Kentucky before marrying the love of her life, Bruce Johnson. She attended St. Leo College and worked in retail management for 29 years, both in the United States and Germany. For the past 10 years, she worked as a Pre-K assistant teacher at Red Cedar Elementary School. She has helped and cared for hundreds of youngsters as if they were her own children.

A friend to all, she was known for her sparkling personality, quick wit, infectious smile, kind and passionate spirit.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Bruce, her uncle Bill Hess and wife Judy, and several aunts, nieces, and nephews. A memorial will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 11:00 am at May River Baptist Church (Highway 170, Okatie, SC). Burial will be at Beaufort National Cemetery.
