passed peacefully from this life on November 23, 2021

at Trident Medical Hospital in Charleston SC.

He was born on January 13, 1937 in Gallitizen, PA the 7th of 8 siblings born to George and Anna Shevenock. Joseph was a 1955 graduate of Gallitizen High School where he participated in basketball and track. He joined the Navy November 5, 1955 to November 8,1962 where his duties were combat information upon the Bon Homme Richard aircraft carrier stationed in Alameda, California. His studies and focus while in the Navy was electrical enginneering. 

Joseph married Margaret Sisto on September 3rd,1966, at Sacred Heart Church, in Altoona, PA. Joe worked for AT&T where he retired after 36 years as district supervisor. During his employment with AT&T, Joseph and his wife lived in Altoona, PA  for several years, Virginia for a brief time, then to Camp Hill, PA onto Birdsboro, PA at the time of his retirement. Joseph spent the early years of his retirement with his wife Margaret (Peggy) traveling the east coast enjoying their timeshares. Spending time with their 1st grandchild, Jedrek and traveling the SouthEast watching their youngest child, Jennifer play college basketball. They also both enjoyed the beach and would plan yearly family vacations to Charleston. Joseph and Peggy also took many trips per year to visit other grandchildren in Summerville. In 2018 they re- located to Summerville, SC to be near their grandchildren. Joseph also always had an active role volunteering for children with special needs. He served for many years as a board member for Supportive Concepts group home where his youngest son, with special needs lives. 

Joseph was a devoted husband and father. He was a man of tradition and was prideful that his wedding ring never came off his finger. He preached God, family, company and “pay yourself first”. He loved the holidays. He was a teacher, especially to his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and godchildren. Often given the name “professor Joe” in humor. He is survived by his wife Marageret Shevenock, sons Jeffrey (Cyndi) Shevenock, Joseph Jr. Shevenock, daughter Jennifer (Travis) Easler, grandchildren Jedrek Shevenock, Blake Easler, Scarlett Easler and Hudson Easler, and Brother Michael Shevenock.
