My Deepest Condolences go out to Gerald's Entire Family and His Friends.
I moved to Middleton Cove about 6 years ago and was Truly Blessed to Have met Vera, of Blessed Memory, and Gerald, of Blessed Memory. Having Both of them in my Life was an Absolutely Beautiful Blessing. The day I moved in, Vera was at the ready with the sweetest smile, to help me while moving in; although I declined her help, she gave me more insight in to how Truly Wonderful Southerners were/are. Gerald wanted to learn more about this New Yorker who was moving to Charleston. Because I worked on Kiawah at the Sanctuary Hotel in the early evening, for 6 years, out of all my neighbors, I'd see Gerald quite often. After introducing myself, Gerald introduced himself and from that point on, this Warm, Wonderful, Extremely Friendly, Native Charlestonian was someone that I admired and grew to Love like so many. He actually helped me make a couple of decisions in my life that changed things for the better. I will Always Remember ,Very Fondly, how Gerald and I would have our talks and he always asked when I was off to work. Early on, he told me about his job selling boats, how he met Vera and how Proud he was of His Children. Gerald, You and Vera were 2 of The Most Beautiful Souls that it was Ever been My Honor and Privilege to meet here in The South. You and Vera will live in My Heart of Hearts Forever. You were two of My Favorite People and I was Really Blessed to know Such Sweet and Wonderful, Friendly and Funny Southerners. My first recollection was when I came home from work one night and everyone was hanging out at "The Point" under the Big Oak Tree, here at Middleton Cove. It was Truly a Blessing and a Great time. Vera and Gerald were Always So Warm, Welcoming and Funny. We Really Grew to Love Each Other, ALL of Us. Gerald may your Memory along with Vera's Memory Forever Be a Blessing.
