Obituary of Jerry Joseph Allen

Jerry Joseph Allen, a dedicated husband, father, and veteran, passed away on December 26, 2023, at the age of 61 in Summerville, SC. Born on December 21, 1962, in Litchfield, IL, Jerry's life was marked by a commitment to service and hard work.

Following his graduation from high school, Jerry honorably served in the US Navy before settling in South Carolina. He dedicated 30 years of his life to a career as a truck driver, showcasing his strong work ethic and reliability.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Lee Allen and Barbara Johnson Smith, as well as his stepson, Dale Kedigh. He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Ann Allen, his children Samantha Lee Allen, Joseph Nicolas Allen, and Cynthia Marie Allen, his stepdaughter Chelsey Nichole Smoak, siblings John Richard Allen, Jeffery Lee Allen, and Yvonne Marie Smith, along with cherished grandchildren.

A service of remembrance to honor Jerry's life will be held at Refuge Church, 203 Eddie Chasteen Dr, Walterboro, SC, on January 14th at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has chosen Palmetto Paws Animal Rescue as the designated charity for memorial contributions, reflecting Jerry's compassion for animals and his giving nature.

Jerry will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his commitment to hard work. His legacy of love and integrity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
