Obituary of Robert Merrill Fuller

Robert Merrill "Bob" Fuller, 99, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2023 and was just two months shy of turning 100. He was born on February 27, 1924 in New York City and was adopted as a baby by Floid Merrill Fuller and Isabel Pearson Fuller of Bethlehem, PA. Bob was recently predeceased by his loving wife Marian Boughner Fuller, 99, who passed November 6, and they were happily married for 78 years. Bob was also predeceased by his sister Marian Moody, of Tampa, FL. Bob and Marian had two daughters, Deborah F. Lippincott, who passed in 2021, and Wendy F. Robinson, wife of William L. Robinson, of Hilton Head, S.C., and had two grandchildren, Lindsay Robinson of Norristown, PA and Hunter Lippincott, along with his wife Lindsay Lippincott and their two children (Bob’s great grandchildren), Emma and Ryan, of Denver, CO.

Bob was a graduate of Blair Academy in 1942 and after serving three and a half years in the US Army and being discharged with the rank of 1st LT. INF., he graduated Lehigh University in 1949. Bob joined Provident Mutual Life Insurance Co. as an agent and was appointed manager of the Northeast PA Agency at age 33. He kept the agency among the leading agencies for 13 years before he went back to personal production and made an association with Lincoln Investment Planning, where his daughter Debbie joined him, enabling him to offer advice and mutual funds with "Market Timing" to his clients, continuing an active career until age 85. Following his socalled "retirement", Bob continued to enjoy his various hobbies including wooden boats, furniture making, mowing his lawn, and meeting with his coffee group pals and neighborhood friends. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bethlehem for years and later Grace Church Bethlehem. He, Marian, and daughter Debbie moved to Hilton Head in 2020 to be closer to their daughter Wendy, and continued to enjoy holidays, birthdays, and anniversary celebrations together.

Bob liked to tell friends, "I will die happily, as I feel my family and I haven't missed much in the course of our very fortunate and enjoyable lives". He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and was truly a shining example of the Greatest Generation. Celebration of Bob's life will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Lowcountry, 7 Plantation Park Dr, Bluffton, S.C. 29910.
