Obituary of Freddie Jack Stanley

Freddie “Jack” Stanley passed away on March 18, 2024, at the age of 83, in Charleston, South Carolina. His battle with Parkinson’s in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges. Despite the pain, he stayed strong until the end.

Born in Crossville, Tennessee April 7, 1940, Jack spent the majority of his life in the Washington, D.C. area where he started his career in broadcasting as a technician for CBS News. He went on to work for the broadcasting division of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), retiring from there as the director of Broadcasting in 2002.

Jack is survived by his wife, Ellen and three children Matthew James Stanley, Michelle Stanley O’Donnell, and Christopher Scott Stanley.

He was a proud veteran, having served in the Army during the Vietnam War. The family asks in lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Legion, as this was an organization close to his heart
