Obituary of Jack DuPre Moore

Jack DuPre Moore went to his heavenly home on September 26, 2018.

Born in Columbia, South Carolina, a retired Master Chief, served over 20 years with the United States Navy followed by a career in business. A devoted husband, father, friend and Mason, he was an active member of the greater Charleston community and a passionate supporter of educational programs including the Palmetto Scholars Academy, Palmetto Partners Robotics and the STEM Collaborative. Jack also served on the Charleston Defense Contractor’s Association (CDCA) Board of Directors from 2005 – 20014, serving as the CDCA President for one year and Vice President for eight years. Jack enjoyed his men’s bible study and singing at Seacoast Church, playing golf and spending time with family and friends.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara, of 55 years; his daughter, Jacqueline (Michael); son, John (Kirsten); two adored grandsons, Alexandre and Zachary; his sister, Susan (Tim); his blessed nieces, Kimberly and Jenny; and many other nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in his passing by his father, Hazel (“Jack”); mother, Grace Lucile; brother, Bruce; and nephew, Joshua.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am at Seacoast Church: Mount Pleasant on October 15, 2018, followed by a reception nearby for friends and family. The following day, October 16, 2018, Jack’s ashes will be interred at the Beaufort National Cemetery at 1:00 pm.
