Obituary of Deron Heimerdinger

Deron Heimerdinger, age 46, was born on November 30, 1971 and passed away after a short illness on October 7th.

He is survived by his wife, affectionately known as Chrissy, and his two daughters Katie and Maddie of Summerville, SC. In addition, he is survived by his parents, Richard and Sherry Heimerdinger of Pinehurst, NC, and his brother Scott Casey of Charleston, his grandmother, Dorothy Weaver of Illinois and a multitude of extended family, in-laws and friends.

Deron was an avid outdoorsman and sports fan. In his youth he was a swimmer and played baseball. He was a life-long Red Sox fan and frequently yelled at the Gamecocks.  Deron was a champion fisherman, winning several Working Man’s Tournaments over the years. He loved being on the Cooper River and knew it like the back of his hand. Deron loved to deer hunt with his friends and duck and dove hunt with his dad.

Deron was a faithful employee of MeadWestvaco, now Ingevity, for over 20 years.

He enjoyed BBQs and Oyster Roasts with friends and enjoyed visits with his parents.

Deron is a Corn Hole Champion and loved playing at gatherings. This was not a skill his wife shared and he was horrified to play with her.

Deron was strong, brave and extremely funny. He was a powerful influence in his daughter’s lives. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
