John immigrated with his family to the US from his former home in Zimbabwe in 1965.
He worked for Westvaco in Summerville SC from then until his retirement in 1988. After his retirement, he and his wife Lynne lived in North Carolina and Tennessee before coming to roost in Campobello, South Carolina.
He is survived by his wife, Lynne Curran Allen, his son Noel Bradley Allen, and his daughter Charlotte Eloise Allen.
