Obituary of Julianne Laubach

Julianne (Julie) Knoll Laubach, 75 of Summerville, SC died peacefully after a battle with cancer on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at her residence with her family by her side.

She was born on August 4, 1947, in Bay City, Michigan, the daughter of Alois and Rita (Leinfelder) Knoll, both deceased. She was also proceeded in death by a brother, James Philip Knoll.

Julie graduated High School from Harper Creek in Battle Creek, Michigan. She graduated college from Western Michigan in Kalamazoo, Michigan with a bachelor’s degree and a certificate in teaching. Julie spent many years in the ceramic tile industry in upper management working with branches across the country. She moved to South Carolina in 2004 to be near to her son, Philip, and her grandson, Kelen. She retired from JC Witherspoon Jr. Incorporated in Manning, South Carolina in 2008. Julie then started providing bookkeeping services to various small businesses and single entities. She was instrumental in helping several establish and strengthen their financial accounting systems.

Julie had marriages to Charles Crowley, father of her only son, and to Richard Laubach. She is survived by her son, Philip James Crowley; future daughter-in-law, Kimberly Osborne Beaudoin; only grandson, Kelen Warren Crowley; Tamara Warren Haggae, mother to grandson; Jesse (Mary) Leinfelder, younger sister; Thomas (Thom) and Catherine (Kitty) Knoll, younger brother and sister-in-law; Benjamin River Leinfelder, nephew; Joshua Douglas Knoll, nephew; Alexandra Jane Knoll, niece.

Julie was an unbelievably strong and multitalented woman, who did not like to impose on others and put other’s needs before her own. She had interests in art and drawing even as a youth. She enjoyed crafts and making clever use out of everyday ordinary items for that purpose. In her spare time, she had an infinity and a skill for drawing various floor plans simply as a hobby. Julie made beneficial use of all her resources, gifts, and talents throughout life. Her organizational skills were unparalleled. Even in her changing and more diminished state up until her final hours, she was telling family members and caregivers where needed items were in her home with 100% accuracy. More than anything else, Julie loved her family completely, unconditionally, wholeheartedly and without hesitation.

A memorial celebration of Julie’s life will be held on March 4, 2023, from 2:00pm – 4:00pm at Simplicity Funeral Home on 281 Treeland Dr, Ladson, SC 29456. Should friends or family desire, in lieu of flowers it is Julie’s wish for contributions to be made to either Hospice or Habitat for Humanity.
