Danny Shelton

Obituary of Danny Lee Shelton

Danny Shelton, 59, died October 3, 2016, at home after fighting a long battle with lung cancer. He was born and raised in Thomson, GA, where he learned construction at 14. After graduating from Warrenton High School, Danny served three years in the Air Force. Soon after, he moved to Beaufort, SC, and promoted to Field Operations Supervisor for high-end residential construction. Danny developed his trade and became a master woodworker designing and building custom furniture and cabinets. His next accomplishment was when he became Operations Manager for a local Charleston business specializing in interior and exterior woodworking projects for yachts, sailboats and sport fishing boats. Predeceased by his father Arvil Shelton of Warrenton, GA, Danny was an only child, and unfortunately, no children to carry on his legacy. He often spoke of his fondest memories of performing in local country bands as a guitarist and singerwhile in Beaufort. Danny’s passions were woodworking, music, and cooking. He also enjoyed karaoke, pool and playing darts. Danny is survived by his wife, Debbie Thomas-Shelton of Hanahan. He told her, “I’ve made peace, experienced more than most, and lived a good life!” One of his last wishes was for his friends to celebrate his life by talking, laughing, singing, and sharing good times. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Roper St. Francis Cancer Center via rsfh.com/cancer-care/lung-cancer.
