Obituary of Ruth C. Taylor

Ruth C. Taylor (nee Nussbaumer), 78, of Summerville, died suddenly April 3, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Sara. She was born July 1, 1936 in Freeport, PA. A 1953 graduate of Wayne Township High School, Trenton, OH. She attended Middletown Business College and Oxford College for Women (Miami University), both in Ohio. She married A. Richard Taylor in Aurora, IN in 1955. She is survived by four children: Michael, Sharon, Beverly and Scott (Sira) and six grandchildren: Trena, Spencer and Chase Martin; Jared, Joshua and Joseph Taylor. Ruth moved to South Carolina in 1985. She worked for Kelly Services, Inc. (employee of the year, 1987) and Homemaker Industries, Inc., where she retired. Ruth was a gifted pianist, an avid sports fan, and a wonderful cook. She enjoyed movies, music, word games, puzzles, trivia, gardening, history, camping and photography. She was very active in a volunteer role: 10 years American Junior Bowling Congress Coach; 10 years scorekeeper and statistician for Oxford Little League and high school baseball; Brownie Scout Troop, 4-H club, and numerous positions within the Talawanda School District, Oxford, OH. Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services made arrangements. A Memorial will be in Ohio at the family’s convenience.
