Obituary of Dwight Brantley Ouzts
Dwight Brantley Ouzts, 63, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston.
Dwight was born in Queens, New York, on October 5, 1955, to Jack Ezell Ouzts and Arline Krizek Ouzts. Dwight graduated from Gateway High School in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, in 1973. He went on to graduate from Trident Technical College in Charleston with a certificate in HVAC. Dwight was a loyal employee of Noland/Winsupply Co. for 38 years. In his free time, he loved playing with his granddaughter, Paisley, and traveling. He never met a stranger. Dwight was a friend to all whose path he crossed. One of his favorite pastimes was rooting for his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers and Clemson Tigers.
Dwight is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 29 years, Linda, his mother, Arline Ouzts of Monroeville, Pennsylvania, his brother, Carlton (Anne) of Goose Creek, his sister, Jacqueline Shogan of Hidden Valley, Pennsylvania, his step-sons, David (Cindy) and Keith ( Spring) of Summerville, his granddaughters Skyla and Paisley, and numerous extended family members. He will be missed by them all, as well as by his many wonderful friends and co-workers. Dwight was predeceased by his father, Jack Ouzts, and his grandparents.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Hollings Cancer Center at MUSC for their compassionate care and support throughout his illness. A memorial service will be held at Simplicity Burial Services at 281 Treeland Drive in Ladson, South Carolina, on Saturday, November 3rd at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Dwight to Hollings Cancer Center, 86 Jonathan Lucas St., MSC 955, Office of Development, Charleston,
