Dear Barbara, so sorry to hear the news. He was much younger than I thought. We were happy when we learned of your retirement in South Carolina. Vickie & I are on the Fla East coast across from where they launch the rockets in Cape Canaveral. Just two months this trip. We'll catch when we next see you. Love Wayne & Vickie

My sincerest condolences go out to Barbara and Marty’s family. I’m so sorry for your loss. I had the distinct pleasure of caring for Marty as his chiropractic physician as well as hearing Barbara’s praise of him during her visits to my office for care. I grew to admire Marty for his devotional posture with Barbara and of his intelligence and witty humor. He seemed to always have something positive to say. I’m sure he will be sorely missed by all. May God bless Barbara with the peace in knowing that he is just on the other side of the veil waiting patiently for her in Heaven.

Marty was a dynamic force of nature!
Gregariously friendly, generous, kind hearted and always with a welcoming smile while volunteering at his beloved 'Beneath the Sea' oceans conference. An accomplished SCUBA diver who combined his keen interest of history with his diving, Marty read extensively about the oceans. I loved chatting with him at BTS and will miss him greatly.
My condolences to his family and his many diving and automotive colleagues.

Barb,
What a wonderful man your Marty was. With such a wonderful relationship like yours you may wonder what’s next. Grief is very difficult to deal with. Yet you will experience tears of joy when you see your Marty in the resurrection. This will soon take place right here on a paradise earth with no more sickness or death. You may think how is this so. I am sending you a link to a short one minute video that explains how this is possible. https://www.jw.org/en/publications/videos/#en/mediaitems/AllVideos/pub-imv_4_VIDEO Barb our thoughts and prayers go out to you at this most difficult time in your life.

I had the pleasure of being Marty and Barb's realtor over the past 16 years. A true "Gentle"man if ever there was one. He handled all of the difficulty we had last year in selling their home with patience, humor and calmness. He and Barb had such a beautiful relationship and I really enjoyed watching the two of them go at each other in the most loving way....Marty used his natural sense of humor to always keep things in perspective. Marty would always say "Thank you Sir" after our conversations and I knew he meant it. I learned a few things along the way from Marty......so to you Marty I say Thank You Sir.

Marty was always so kind, upbeat and positive. He deeply cared about others, and kept in touch with his family and friends regularly. He worked hard, but also found time for pleasure, too. Marty and Barb shared a special and deep love. He will truly be missed by all of us. In the words of his six-year-old great nephew, "Uncle Marty will live on in our hearts with so much love." - Jan

Marty was our "gentle giant". He faced every day with optimism and gave kindness to everyone he met. He had the biggest heart of the five of us. I will truly miss our phone conversations, his big smile, and his belly laugh. Rest in peace little brother; I will treasure every memory.

Although I only knew Marty briefly, I so enjoyed his affable personality and it was always evident how he and Barbara watched over each other so dearly. His smile will be missed and his manner will always be remembered with affection. Blessings to Barbara and both their families. Our Cane Bay Presbyterian Church is praying for his soul's peace and for Barbara and the families ease and comfort during this difficult time.
