Obituary of John Norton, Jr.

John Elias Norton, Jr., age 54, passed away on January 17, 2019 at Trident Medical Center, surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Clarksville, West Virginia to Geraldine Raye Widener and John Elias Norton, Sr., the oldest of two children.

John was an automotive technician by trade. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His hobbies included fishing, football and racing.

John is survived by wife Mary Wilcox Norton, his three sons Joshua James Lines, John Christopher Norton, Patrick Stephen Norton, his sister Paula Elaine Runyon, and his nieces Jessica Elaine Runyon and Rebecca Nicole Runyon.

John is also survived by grandsons Nicholas James Hinson, Ethan Carter Lines, Joshua James Lines Jr., Liam Mathias Lines, Dominic Carl Lines, and his granddaughter Lilyann Rene Eidem.

The celebration of life service will be held in Augusta, GA on Saturday February 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Mistletoe State Park Recreational Hall Beach House (3725 Mistletoe Rd. Appling, GA 30802).

A second celebration of life will be held in Ladson, SC on February 6, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Simplicity: Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services (281 Treeland Drive, Suite C, Ladson, SC 29456).

The Norton family would like to extend gratitude to all the staff at Trident Medical Center and Agapé Hospice for their excellent care. Memorials may be made in John’s name to the American Cancer Society.
