Obituary of Danny Dillard

Danny Nelson Dillard, 75 entered into eternal peace peacefully on Friday, January 18 at his home. Danny was born February 17,1943 in Bainbridge, GA.  After high school, Danny joined the US Navy as a mechanic. He served for many years before leaving to begin working at MUSC. He retired after a long career with Lockhead Martin.

Danny loved his family, but the love for his grands and great grands were known by all who knew him. He had a passion for history. He always willing to help those in need, frequently offering help to those less fortunate and giving to charities. He also loved to fish, and would ask his children to bring him fish to eat when he was unable to go fishing himself.

In addition to his wife of 28 years, Connie Dillard, Danny is survived by his sons, Brett Dillard (Diane) of Hollywood and Kenny Harrison of Charleston; his aunt, Tera Wicker of Johns Island; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is Predeceased by his mother, Ruth Spooner; sister, Darlene Cloud; brother, Donald Spooner, all of Bainbridge; sons, Brian Dillard and James "Bobo" Harrison.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 23 at 4 PM at First Baptist Church of Ravenel.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  In Lieu of flowers a donation may be made in his honor to any charity of your choice.
