Obituary of Jack W. Moseley

SMSGT Jack W. Moseley, USAF (ret), 82, passed away peacefully at his Edisto Beach, S. C. home following a long illness on Saturday, December 27, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 11:00AM at the Presbyterian Church on Edisto Island with interment in the church graveyard. Jack was born Dec. 18, 1932 in Orangeburg, S. C., the only son of Jake W. Moseley and Eoline Oliver Moseley. After graduation from Columbia High School he enlisted in the U. S. Air Force. Following his retirement after 23 years of active service, he served as a Junior AFROTC instructor while attending S. C. State College for his Bachelor’s Degree. He attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia, earning 2 Master’s Degrees while working in the Williston School District as a teacher, coach, and administrator for 20 years prior to retiring and moving to Edisto Beach. He was a strong believer in public service and was elected and served on the Williston Town Council for 8 years, followed by 8 years on the Edisto Beach Town Council. He was a member and Elder of the Presbyterian Church on Edisto Island, the Edisto Island Lions Club and was recently recognized for 50 years membership in the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Deoma (Dee) Moseley, his son, John S. Moseley, daughter Patricia A. Moseley and granddaughter Darla N. Moseley. The family is grateful for the service provided by Amedisys Hospice Care of Charleston.
