Obituary of Michael Jay Query

Michael Jay Query (Mike), 55, of Moncks Corner entered into eternal rest on Thursday September 8, 2016. Visitation will be held on Sunday September 11, 2016 at 2:00 pm with funeral services to follow at 3:00 pm at The Church at Sewee Bay (6194 US 17, Awendaw, SC 29429). Pastor Troy Query, Chaplain Mike Peyton and Reverend Richard W. Crummy will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery located on Wilson Cemetery Road in Awendaw. Mike was born January 8, 1961 in Kittery Maine. Mike graduated from Wando High School in 1979 and earned a Bachelors degree in History from Baptist College. Mike retired from World Finance Corporation after 25 years as Manager of the Mt Pleasant branch. During his tenure Mike won 2 – 1st place awards in Operations for the State of South Carolina 2 -3rd place awards in Operations for the State of South Carolina and 5 awards for Outstanding Tax Returns for the State of South Carolina. Mike was highly respected and loved by the community and everyone that worked for him. Mike loved playing basketball and was an avid New York Yankees fan. Mike loved animals and rescued many dogs throughout his life. Mike’s greatest love was his daughter Aunjanai and he loved spending time with her. His love for her was unconditional Mike is preceded in death by his mother Fern Query and father Samuel Query. He is survived by his daughter Aunjanai Kandece Query, his brothers James Query (Lynn), Troy Query (Michele), his sisters Kim Cecil (Greg) and Karen Hodge (Derrick), and many nieces and nephews.
