Obituary of Diane Lynn Vowell

Diane Lynn Vowell, age 59 of Charleston went to heaven above on October 7, 2014, after a long hard battle with cancer. Diane was the Loving Daughter of Edna Balis and the late Boyd Balis. Loving Mother to Sheena (Travis) Miller, and Jenna (Toby) Smith. Dear Sister to Jim Balis (Marlene Paglia), and Donna (Bob) Archambeau. Dedicated Grandma, “GiGi” to Chesney and Alex Miller. Diane went to Ferris State University and graduated with an Associate’s degree in Dental Assisting. Diane was then persuaded by her dad to obtain a degree in Dental Hygiene at Mott Community College. Diane was a wonderful, caring and respected dental hygienist for 32 years. She was very connected to all her patients which knew her passion for her job, but she often said “being a mom was the best job she ever had”! She never stopped smiling as she enjoyed, spending time on the lake, sitting on the beach, working in her garden, reading, playing with her grandkids, and rolling around town with her AC on and her windows down!! Diane was an inspiration to all that knew her because of her determination and positive outlook on life. She was a mom, ”Mama V” to many and touched the hearts of everyone around her.
